4th WIEF Post-Conference Report

The 4th WIEF post-conference report is now available for reading on the website and in print. The report contains summaries of notes and proceedings of the plenary and parallel sessions of the 4th WIEF in Kuwait, the first Forum of its kind held in the Middle East. The 4th WIEF held in Kuwait on the 29th-1st May 2008 attracted for the first time several leaders from the Gulf, with an impressive line-up of Heads of State from around the region. On the 29th April 2008, the world saw the congregation of leaders from various regions across the Muslim world, united in their goal to improve the economic well-being of the people in this region. Present at the Forum were the Emir of Kuwait, HH Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HM King Abdullah II of Jordan, President of Afghanistan, HE Hamid Karzai, President of Senegal and Chairman of the OIC, HE Abdoulaye Wade and the President of Bosnia and Herzegovina, HE Dr. Haris Silajdzic. Heads of Government discussing on the panel on the topic "Islamic countries in a competitive world" were the Prime Minister of Kuwait HH Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister of Bahrain, HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister of the Ivory Coast, HE Guillaume Kigbafori Soro, plus the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), HE Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ali. 4th WIEF Hosts Heads of State

The 4th WIEF in Kuwait is expected to attract business leaders from all over the Muslim world, with greater participation from the non-Muslim business community this time around. But the most important development so far has been the confirmation of many Heads of State to the grand conference in Kuwait on the 29th April-1st May 2008.
