FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for the 4th WIEF
  VISA
1. How do I apply for Visa to Kuwait?
You can visit the Kuwait embassy in your country of residence and apply for a Visa using the confirmation letter that we have sent you via email.

2. What if I am a registered participant and I forgot to apply for a Visa at my home country?
If you are a resident of one of these countries (please click here), you can purchase a visa upon arrival at the airport at USD24. However, if you wish the Visa fees to be waived, you need to submit your scanned passport copy to the Kuwaiti organising committee via email to Mr. Mohamad Atwi at is@yc-c.com.

3. Do I need to queue to purchase the Visa at the Kuwait Airport?
If you are a registered participant but forgot to submit your passport copy to Mr. Mohamad Atwi, your visa application will still be arranged by the Kuwaiti organising team, upon your arrival at the airport. But you still need to pay USD24 for that.

4. What will I expect to happen when I touch down in Kuwait Airport?
If you have submitted your flight schedule to Mr. Mohamad Atwi before boarding the flight, you will be received just outside the plane upon touch down at Kuwait Airport. There will be a person holding the 4th WIEF placard at the tarmac waiting for you. He will bring you to a special lounge set up for the participants of the 4th WIEF. While you wait there, he will arrange your visa and immigration matters for you. After all this process, you will be taken to the shuttle bus that will bring you to your hotel. The journey will take approximately 15mins.

5. I have booked myself at a hotel outside the list of hotel provided by the Government of Kuwait. What is the implication of this?
If you book yourself in a hotel outside the list of hotel provided (to see list, please click here), you will have to make your own visa and transport arrangements. There will not be any dedicated transport service to bring you from your hotel to the airport, or the conference venue.

  FLIGHT
1. I am taking Kuwait Airlines to fly into Kuwait. Is there any rebate?
Yes. There is a special arrangement for a 30% discount on Kuwait Airlines. However, if you are a speaker or a government invited guest, your travel is free of charge.

2. I am a speaker for the 4th WIEF (or WIEF Young Leaders Forum, WIEF Businesswomen Forum or WIEF Development & Finance Forum) and I have bought a flight ticket with an airline which is not Kuwait Airlines. Will my travel still be free?
Yes. All the travel cost for speakers of the 4th WIEF and its related Forums will be taken care of by the Government of Kuwait. If you have already bought your flight ticket, please submit the invoice and a copy of the flight ticket to Mr. Mohamad Atwi. You can sort out the reimbursement before your travel by sending him an email attachment of these 2 documents at is@yc-c.com. Alternatively, you can be reimbursed in cash upon arrival at your hotel. Just contact Mr. Mohamad Atwi at +965 7077 878 and submit these documents to him.

3. I am aware that as a speaker at the event, my flight cost will be reimbursed. But I am taking business class. Is that still reimbursable?
Yes. The Government of Kuwait will reimburse only up to business class. First class is not part of the deal.

  HOTEL
1. What is the room allocation arrangement like?
If you are a speaker for the main Forum, chances are you will be placed in Sheraton. If you are a speaker for the Young Leaders Forum, you will be placed in either Sheraton or Four Points (which is literally next to Sheraton). If you are a speaker for the Businesswomen Forum, chances are you will be placed in JW Marriott. If you are a VIP participant, you will be allocated to either JW Marriott or Sheraton. If you are a normal participant, you will be placed in either Le Meridien or Four Points. If you are a member of the media, you will be placed in Holiday Inn.

2. How about dining arrangement at the hotel?
If you are a government invitee or a speaker for the 4th WIEF events, your breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel will be taken care of. If you are a normal participant, only your breakfast is covered at the hotel. You will receive a note at the reception regarding this.

3. What will I expect when I arrive at the hotel?
When you arrive, the Forum organizers will welcome you at the lobby and arrange for your room. He will also give you your conference bag and your participant tag for the event. Please do not lose your tag, as this is a security measure by the Government to avoid unwanted people from accessing the Forum. Your conference bag contains several reading materials that are useful for the Forum. So if you wish to refer to it while attending the Forum, please do not forget to bring it with you because there would not be any extra copy circulated at the Forum except for local participants.

4. Will I be invited to the Opening Ceremony at Bayan Palace?
If you are invited to the Bayan Palace, you will receive an invitation card from the Government of Kuwait upon your arrival at the hotel. Only those who receive an invitation card can go to Bayan Palace to attend the Opening Ceremony.

5. I don’t have a conference bag. Where can I get one?
If you don’t have a conference bag upon check in at the hotel, please make your way to Sheraton and ask for one.
